Boom-Clap-Clap

I have a love/hate relationship with drum machines. I love them because I have no rhythm and I can set a BPM and go: boom-clap-boom-clap-boom-clap. I hate them because I have no music skill (though I am learning) and they are so rigid that I am largely unable to recreate the classic drum phrases that I so love. Bars, measures, tempo, note length are all a festival of stupid in my brain.

I am hoping to resolve this issue with the TR-1025 because of the nature of the system. By creating a "locked" BPM for both sequencers (using a VCO as a clock) I am free to adjust the note length (pulse width) for each individual voice of the 9090 and bring some of the natural variation and imprecision that give traditional drums their character. Hopefully, I will make the time to make that first panel layout.
