Construction Through Compulsion

I suppose it would be appropriate to clarify the subtitle of this blog.

I build things. Lots of things. From my humble beginnings with Lego Technics to the crazy crap that I build now.

Building keeps my brain and hands busy, thus avoiding the need to think about everything else. I just have to build things, nothing else will do. I can just close up my brain for a while and focus. Hell, I spent New Year's building my first x0x.

As mentioned, first proper project (aside from messing with Casios with no success) was the amazing 303 clone kit (now sadly discontinued as is my understanding) know as the x0xb0x. I have number 547 and it is possibly one of the coolest things that I have ever made.

Now, I am in the beginning throes of two projects. The first is a mod for another x0xb0x (I have the guts and I am sourcing parts as money allows).

The second is a significantly larger project. I am taking the guts of a 909 (in this case a 909 clone), a pair of analog sequencers, a multi-effects processor, and a clock (that has yet to be officially chosen) and cramming them into one banana jack laden live performance friendly drum-fest.
